Overview

Prayer Buddy is designed to help you organize and engage with your personal prayers and spiritual practice. I respect your privacy and am committed to keeping your data secure and private. This policy explains what information I collect and how it's used.

Information We Collect

Text-to-Speech Data:

_note: during beta, this feature is enabled by default - but will be optional as the Beta progresses, and will eventually be behind a paywall since it costs money for the human-sounding audio. The free version will use local TTS from iOS which doesn't sound as good)

When you choose to generate audio versions of your prayers, only the prayer titles are sent to OpenAI for text-to-speech conversion. OpenAI processes this data according to their Privacy Policy.

I do not have access to the data coming and going from OpenAI. OpenAI, however, may keep the data for up to 30 days to monitor cases they need to address. This is standard policy and in my usage of OpenAI's APIs since the start I have not yet had any issues with this policy.

What I Don't Do

• I do not use analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking SDKs.
• I do not share your prayer data with anyone (except ElevenLabs for audio generation when you request it).
• I do not access or view your personal prayers.

iCloud Sync

Prayer Buddy uses Apple's CloudKit service to sync your prayer data across your devices. This means:

• Your prayer information is stored in your personal iCloud account
• Data is encrypted and secured by Apple using industry-standard practices
• I (the app developer) have no access to your synced data
• Your data remains private and under your control
• You can disable iCloud sync in your device settings at any time
• Apple's Privacy Policy applies to data stored in iCloud

The following data is synced through iCloud:

• Prayer requests (titles, descriptions, updates)
• Audio preferences and settings
• Prayer organization and categories

No personal data is transmitted to my servers or any third-party services (except OpenAI for optional audio generation).

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access all data stored within the app
• Delete individual prayers or all data
• Disable iCloud sync at any time

Children's Privacy

Prayer Buddy does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app is designed for general audiences.
